writing from another someone not from where they are

public art

Pubs are closing everywhere and at an astonishing rate.  Their signs are going down and for sale signs going up all over the place.  I was passing this pub near Mosborough and took a photo of the sign.  I wonder where they all go?  There is I assume a collector somewhere with a warehouse full […]

religious painting

This is the second of this style painting I’ve seen around.  My friend Steve told me that there are are a series of 12 of them and they were, indeed, made by a particular church.  He suggested that they were a set of stages of the cross but this one wouldn’t fit that description.  It […]

i asked which bit he was doing (iv)

Driving back with the kids they asked “Can we go and see Phlegm?” So we did and two of them came out to see what was going on. A man was there wearing a mask, or with it round his neck, a protection mask for spray paint.  I asked which bit he was doing. The […]

then this

This appears during Tuesday. Phlegm is building a machine that is holding the other pieces together, suspending them in mid air.

so this goes up (ii)

This is there on Monday evening. Doesn’t look like Phlegm I think. Could he have been taking the piss out of my middle class sensibilities?

something is happening here (i)

I stopped and asked what they were doing. “It’s Phlegm, we’re getting it ready for him, we’re just mates”

christ the worker

I was in Truro yesterday morning and I saw a painting. It is in the Chapel of Christ the Worker in Truro Cathedral. It really caught my attention because it was so well set in that realist art of the thirties. I love the way it remarks the Soviet realism of the period and found […]
